NHS Lanarkshire is Scotland's third-largest health board, with a workforce of 12,000 people providing acute and community healthcare services to a population of 655,000 in rural and urban communities throughout Lanarkshire. There are three district general hospitals and fourteen community hospitals under the board:

Lanarkshire, also known as the County of Lanark, is the most populous county in Scotland, encompassing the majority of Glasgow and its surrounding region. The county has a well-developed road and public transportation system. Furthermore, the location is approximately 30 minutes from Glasgow and approximately 40 minutes from Edinburgh.
