Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest general hospital foundation trusts in England, UK. The Trust is a major provider of acute and specialist care services for West Berkshire. Royal Berkshire Hospital: It is a National Health Service hospital in the town of Reading, which provides acute hospital services to the residents of the western and central portions of Berkshire. 

 

Bracknell Healthspace: Bracknell Healthspace is located close to Bracknell Town Centre and easily accessible. The facility is to provide the following healthcare services:

Dingley Child Development Centre: The main aim of Dingley centre is to treat children and young people who need help to overcome a developmental issue or a complex illness. They have developed a team of specialists who can assess and work in this segment. The services include;

  • Newborn hearing services

  • Occupational therapy

  • Speech and Language therapy

  • Orthotics

  • Genetics

  • Paediatric Psychology, etc.

 

Prince Charles Eye Unit: The unit provides different ophthalmology services to the population of Windsor and the surrounding area. The services are:

  • Eye Day Bed Unit 

  • Nurse-Led Pre-Op

  • Intravitreal injection service

  • Eye OPD

  • Eye casualty walk-in services 

  • Orthoptic services including Paediatrics

 

Townlands Memorial Hospital: The hospital provides a wide range of Outpatient Services to the population of Henley and South Oxfordshire. The services of Townlands Memorial Hospital are:

  • Gynaecology

  • Paediatrics

  • Ophthalmology and Orthoptics

  • Radiology

West Berkshire Community Hospital: The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust offers a wide range of services to the population of Newbury and the surrounding area through West Berkshire Community Hospital.

 

Windsor Dialysis Unit: Windsor Dialysis Unit provides dedicated services for patients with chronic kidney disease needing haemodialysis living in Windsor and the surrounding area. The unit also provides outpatient clinics for haemodialysis patients and patients requiring peritoneal dialysis.

Road: M4 motorway is major long-distance traffic that serves three junctions J10-J12. Other main roads serving Reading include the A33, A327, A329, A4074 and A4155.

Rail: There are several trains from the reading railway station connecting more than 180 locations including Cardiff, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton, and Oxford.

Air: The nearest airport is London Heathrow, 25 miles (40 km) away by road. An express bus service named RailAir links Reading with Heathrow. In addition, Birmingham Airport, Gatwick Airport and Southampton Airport can all be accessed via direct trains from Reading railway station.

River: Reading famous as a river port as well, at the confluence of the River Thames and the River Kennet. Both the rivers are navigable, and Caversham Lock, Blake's Lock, County Lock, Fobney Lock and Southcote Lock are all within the borough.

Pay: Employees come under the standard NHS salary scheme. The formal weekly hours of all full-time NHS staff covered by Agenda for Change are 37.5 hours, excluding meal breaks.

After five years of service: 29 days + 8 days
